EVENT DESCRIPTION
Come out of winter hibernation and kick-off Spring with the Olentangy Valley Community 5K. The 5K event designed for runners, joggers, and walkers of all ages takes place in and around the Shanahan Middle School and Olentangy High School in Lewis Center, Ohio.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The 5K starts in front of Shanahan Middle School and travels past the Olentangy High School to Lewis Center Rd. Athletes will head east on Lewis Center before turning right on North Rd. There’s a slight incline at the beginning of North Rd but nothing to slow you down as you head to Shanahan Rd. Turn LEFT onto Shanahan Rd for the flat and fast last mile to Shanahan Middle School. Run past the middle school to the main entrance and then a 2/10 sprint to the finish!

EVENT RULES
Participants must wear assigned number on the front of your shirt or shorts. Your number must be visible to checkpoint recorders at all times. Attach timing chip to your ankle with the provided strap. You will not be scored at the finish line unless your number is visible and your timing chip is attached when you cross the finish.
AWARDS
Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers in the following divisions:
- High School
- Teacher
- 8th Grade
- 7th Grade
- 6th Grade
Awards will be given to the top 10 male and female finishers in the following division:
- Community (non-student 18 & over)
All athletes must be present to receive awards. No awards will be mailed, delivered, or dropped-off. If you must leave the event before receiving your award please make arrangements with a friend or family member to get your award or discuss with finish line management. Participants contacting us after the event to claim award will be referenced to the award policy.
Award Availability – Awards are ordered 10 days prior to the event and based on registration. For the smaller participated race divisions, it is important to sign up as soon as possible to ensure an award is ordered.

TECHNICAL SHIRTS AND AMENITIES
Fat Rabbit Racing and Brooks (www.brooksrunning.com) have partnered in 2008 to provide participants with quality technical shirts. No more cotton! Please review the Brooks’ sizing chart to make certain you select the right size during registration. Also, please read the shirt guarantee and sizing policies.
Athletes must be registered 15 days from the event date to be guaranteed an event shirt. Athletes registering within 15 days of the event date will need to sign an event shirt waiting list at athlete check-in and then check back after the race for shirt availability.
Shirt size selected during registration will be the shirt size given you at athlete check-in. If the shirt size selected by you during registration is the incorrect size, you will need to complete a shirt size transfer list at athlete check-in. You will be required to check back after the race for size availability.

DIRECTIONS
From Delaware to Race Site – Take SR 23 South to Shanahan Rd – Turn LEFT. Shanahan Middle School is approximately 1/2 miles on Right.
From Columbus to Race Site – Take SR 23 North to Shanahan Rd – Turn Right. Shanahan Middle School is approximately 1/2 miles on Right.
From Dublin to Race Site – Take I-270 North toward Cleveland to SR 23 North. Take 23 North to Shanahan Rd – Turn Right. Shanahan Middle School is approximately 1/2 miles on Right.
From Westerville to Race Site – Take I-270 North toward Cleveland to SR 23 North. Take 23 North to Shanahan Rd – Turn Right. Shanahan Middle School is approximately 1/2 miles on Right.
