EVENT DESCRIPTION
Come celebrate America’s birthday at the Freedom 4 miler! The Freedom 4 miler is recognized as one of Central Ohio’s coolest courses – the course takes place on the out-n-back Orange Township Independence Day Parade course as several thousands spectators cheer you to the finish line!
The 4 mile run starts and finishes at Orange High School - the site of the Orange Township Independence Day festival. The 4 mile event is open to runners, joggers and walkers of all ages.
Partial race proceeds benefit the Independence Day Celebration Fund of the Orange Township Business Association, a not for profit business association.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The out-n-back course starts at Orange Middle School and travels West on Orange Rd to Old State Rd. Runners and walkers will travel south on Old State to Powell Rd – head West (turn RIGHT) on Powell for approximately ½ mile before turning around at the ½ way mark. As athletes race past the 2.5 mile mark (see awards) they will come back to Orange Rd where they will have a ¼ mile grade 3 steady climb back to Orange Middle School. Once the hill is crested, the legs come back for an exciting finish at the Middle School and the Orange Township Independence Day Festival.
