EVENT DESCRIPTION
Several years ago, area cyclists started a tradition of doing a 100 mile ride on Memorial day. Each year, the ride has gotten more popular as multisport athletes and cyclists joined in for the spirited ride.
In 2006, the purpose of the ride changed. The preceding Fall, all or our lives were touched as our training partner and good friend, Jon Hastings and his wife Aubrey lost their beloved son Corbin to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Jon’s good friend, Joel Kahn organized the 2006 ride to benefit the SIDS Network of Ohio in memory of Corbin. Cyclists from different race groups, teams and race organizers put aside their competitiveness and united to show support for Jon & Aubrey Hastings and the memory of Corbin.
In 2007, with the support of Jon & Aubrey Hastings, we took another step in the memory of Corbin to bring a new level of awareness to SIDS and to raise funds to be contributed to the SIDS Network of Ohio.
The Corbin Hastings Memorial Day 100 is a non-competitive training ride.
All participants will be required to sign a Fat Rabbit Racing waiver.
